The Commonwealth Games Football tournament has increased the number of participating teams from 56 to 63. Several unaffiliated teams, including Jersey, Nauru, Isle of Man, Niue, Kiribati, and Guernsey, will be automatically added to the database if they are not already present. It no longer requires you to add these teams on the "New team" page manually anymore.

Due to the odd number of teams in the latest format, the groups are not evenly sized, with some having fewer teams than others. This imbalance could lead to unfair overall standings rankings. An upcoming update will address this issue. For groups with more teams, the match results against the lowest-ranked teams will be discarded when determining the overall group standings. This approach ensures that all teams have the same competitive advantage and are evaluated based on their performances against the stronger opponents.

All unaffiliated teams like Kiribati are ranked realistically. 

Commonwealth Games Format

Qualifiers

The 63 teams are divided into 12 groups.
The host team automatically secures a spot in the finals.
The winners of each group, along with the top 5 second-place teams, will advance to the finals.
The remaining 12 best-ranked teams will compete for the last 6 slots in the finals.

Finals

The 24 qualified teams are divided into six groups for the group stage. The top two teams from each group, along with the 8 best-ranked teams, will advance to the knockout stage.

While this feature is experimental and requires a lot of clean-up, these leagues run fine and are suitable for casual simulations. The new 24-team World Cup format is now available, which means you can also simulate a Euro 24 tournament. Follow these steps to run a Euro 24 simulation in less than a minute: 1. Choose Germany as the host country. Ignore the red colored warning for now. 2. Set the starting stage to "Group stage". 3. Choose "UEFA" for the "pick hosts from only one confederation" option.
