The World Champion League is based on the new UCL "Swiss Model" format

The World Champion League has adopted a format similar to the revamped "Swiss system" UEFA Champions League for the 2024-2025 season.

Before the start of the competition, you can select 36 teams of your own choices.

League Phase

The league phase of the World Champion League features 36 teams, divided into 4 pots based on their Elo rankings. Each team plays a total of 8 matches, facing 2 unique opponents from each pot. This "Swiss system" ensures a balanced and competitive schedule, with teams playing 4 home games and 4 away games.

Playoff Round

The remaining 16 teams from the league phase compete in a 2-leg home-and-away playoff round. This additional round provides an opportunity for teams to secure their place in the knockout stage, adding an extra layer of excitement and drama to the competition.

The playoff round determines the 8 additional teams that will join the top 8 from the league phase in the knockout tournament.

Knockout Stage

The 16 teams that have qualified from the league phase and playoff round then compete in a 2-leg home-and-away knockout tournament. This includes quarter-finals, semi-finals, and the final match, where the ultimate World Champion will be crowned.
