New two-leg knockout tournament format now available.

The Forever World Cup Simulator has introduced a new two-leg knockout home-away format, which closely mirrors real-life international football tournaments:

  • The first leg and second leg matches are played with the teams alternating home and away.
  • If the total scores from the first leg and second leg regular time are the same, the match goes to extra time.
  • If the scores are still tied after extra time, the winner is decided by a penalty shootout.

To make the fixture less confusing or cluttered, the presentation has been tweaked with a few enhancements:

  • A divider has been added between each match-up to clearly separate the fixtures.
  • A small "W" label has been added to help identify the winner of two-leg playoff matches.

As a result of this new format, the following custom leagues have had their knockout rounds upgraded to the two-legged home and away format:

New two-leg custom knockout tournaments have also been added, like 256-team two-leg knockout tournament

It's important to note that the simulator does not allow users to simulate the second leg before the first leg, which is a logical restriction to maintain the integrity of the two-leg format.
